Like other U.S. Departments of Transportation (DOTs), the Oregon DOT must regularly publish highway and asset data in the form of federal,
state, and agency reports, data layers, and extracts. This project implemented a core transportation asset management system consisting
of Exor Network Manager, Exor Asset Manager, and Exor Spatial Manager. The goal was to develop a new approach to aggregating and
analyzing transportation asset data.
The Exor Transportation Intelligence Gateway enabled the Oregon DOT to assemble data from the sources needed to quickly produce the
annual Highway Performance Monitoring System extract for the Federal Highway Administration, among other state and federal reports.
The DOT also has deployed this tool to move data from its Exor system to its GIS applications, intelligent transportation systems, and data
consumers across the department.
Through the Government of India, the State Government of Odisha received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and
Development to implement the Odisha State Roads Project. A portion of this loan was to establish a road asset management system for
the 14,000-kilometer state road network, which will assist the Odisha Works Department in making the best use of public funds for the
maintenance of its road networks.
Configured using the Exor Intelligent Transportation Gateway, the system primarily uses an Exor/Oracle database that is accessible to
approximately 40 offices through a Web browser. Because it is mandatory to establish scientific principles and a system-based asset
management system when seeking funds from the federal government, this project has delivered a vehicle for convincingly demonstrating
the region’s road network needs.
