For this project AmerenUE leveraged the versatility of eB and familiarity with its own in-house work management system to create a new
front-end application known as the Ameren Document Viewer to automate the process for managing design modifications at its non-nuclear
power plants. The Ameren Document Viewer displays a consolidated view of all relative design change information, while eB is the
back-end system, ensuring the appropriate checks are made and that data inaccuracies do not occur.
Using the Ameren Document Viewer, design changes now are easily accessible from a main overview display equipped with powerful
filtering and drilldown capabilities. Implementing standard procedural steps from beginning to end for the workflow of document and
drawing updates further streamlined the overall process. The viewer also offers increased visibility for supervisors and upper management
that was not available with the old system.

3D Maintenance Model Development Project
The goal of this project in Helsinki, Finland, was to develop a methodology for creating comprehensive 3D maintenance models for
infrastructure sites that are located by water and/or include underwater structures. It enables Mericon Oy to sell a new kind of service
that is applicable to both infrastructure projects and owner-operators of infrastructure assets. It will become a standard offering with all
relevant future projects.
Mericon Oy used MicroStation and PowerCivil for Finland to combine underwater/overwater data and structural/terrain models into one
comprehensive model that can be used for maintaining assets in the area. This accurate model of the infrastructure assets not only delivers
improved reliability and lower maintenance costs, but it also prevents design errors. An accurate as-built model of the site also eliminates
design errors in future projects.
