The goal of this ambitious project in Agrium’s Potash Mine and Mineral Processing facility in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan, Canada, was to improve
plant reliability by 50 percent by 2015. The challenge was to implement systems and tools that would help change the overall culture of the
facility and create sustainable improvement. The introduction of a reliability-centered program supported by Asset Wise APM on mobile
devices for operations and maintenance inspection routes facilitated the team’s ability to make improvements.
The reliability process has instilled a change in the facility’s workforce culture, and improved the partnership between operations and
maintenance towards reliability and business goals with measurable results in profit, environmental sustainability, safety and social
responsibility. The system reporting was recognized by the Saskatchewan Department of Environment as industry leading.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad is the largest electricity utility in Malaysia. With almost M YR 87 billion in assets, the company’s more than 33,500
employees serve an estimated 8. 3 million customers. Because vital information previously had been contained in multiple databases or
paper-based records, this project’s goal was to centralize all asset information so engineers could make timelier and more informed decisions,
thus reducing reactive maintenance.
The utility implemented Asset Wise APM (Ivara) to act as a central repository and asset health dashboard that drives a proactive process for
asset reliability and performance. The system incorporates asset risk prioritization and reliability-centered maintenance as the foundation of the
asset management process. The project has reduced downtime and unplanned outages while at the same time reducing maintenance costs.
