The goal of this project in the United Kingdom was to implement an effective and lean engineering design, construction, and asset
management methodology across project lifecycles. The challenge was mapping the asset attribute data requirements to the digital plan of
works and linking intelligent P&ID tools/technology to the design and construction BIM process inputs and outputs.
Using Bentley OpenPlant PowerPID, Black & Veatch captured and enhanced data as it moved through the creation and delivery process, so
that meaningful data was delivered to the operations and maintenance team in the correct formats and to the required level of definition.
This approach actively promoted sustainable data management strategies by supporting a well-defined BIM methodology that dramatically
reduced the amount of checking and review.

The ultimate goal of this joint project in Berlin, Germany, was to create an engaging film presentation of the project. Targeted at decision
makers and the general public, the film’s purpose was to educate technical and non-technical audiences on the scientific and environmental
aspects of how to protect cities, localities, and districts from a rising water table.
UBV Umweltbüro GmbH, Vermessungsbüro Keßler und Puggel, and cadcom Systemhaus GmbH used MicroStation and Bentley Navigator
to plan and survey the 3D horizontal filter wells. MicroStation was critical to the loading of point clouds and provided animation and
visualization capabilities. The final video became a bridge of knowledge for both design specialists and the community at large.
