The goals of this INR 387 million project in Navi Mumbai, India, were to evaluate the existing water distribution system, determine whether
it was sufficient to cater to existing demand as well as future demand, pinpoint the areas of improvement needed to meet future demand,
and remodel designated areas as necessary for the 24x7 supply system for Panvel municipality.
Yash Engineering Consultants used WaterGEMS to identify the bottleneck and upgrade the existing water distribution infrastructure to
increase its efficiency by reducing water loss from 40 percent to 10 percent or less. WaterGEMS’ interoperability with GIS and AutoCAD
was key to gathering information and quickly producing a water model. Significant time was saved by not having to manually enter data into
conventional design software.

Partur Water Supply System
The Partur region is a rapidly growing area of India. A proposed new water supply system needed to be designed to last for at least 30 years
and have the capacity to handle future demands. Due to its current low population, however, it was necessary for the project to proceed in
phases. The goal was to upgrade the existing water infrastructure to increase operational efficiency by reducing water loss and improving
Yash Engineering Consultants used WaterGEMS on this INR 396 million project to determine if a phase-approach to construction was
feasible by simulating existing and future scenarios. WaterGEMS enabled the team to determine whether the existing system was
sufficient for existing demands as well as future demands by running the model in both steady state and extended period simulation.
