For this process structure at a petrochemical facility in India, the main challenge was the excessive deflection of the vessel under design
wind-loading conditions causing huge stresses to the attached critical piping. Whenever there was deflection in the vessel, the structure
needed to restrain the deflection after the notional gap deflection. Modeling of the vessel and structure interface was complex due to this
Aker Powergas used STAAD.Pro to carry out various analysis and design requirements. PDS software was used for the 3D modeling, and
MicroStation provided the 2D interface to the PDS system, which made the interface simple and avoided mismatch errors between the
3D models and 2D models. All the interface requirements were addressed and construction drawings were issued only after the interface
clashes were resolved and the structure was clash free.

Traffic congestion and air pollution are majors concerns for Navi Mumbai, India, and this state-of-the-art metro rail station constructed for
CIDCO by Aster Building solutions helping to reduce both. A major goal of this 12. 5 million project was to design and optimize the quantities
of material required. The curved frame had an 11-meter cantilever on both sides, which added complexity to the design.
Aster Building Solutions used STAAD.Pro to get the best possible design within a short period of time. The schematic geometry was
completed in AutoCAD and exported into STAAD.Pro for the analysis and design. STAAD.Pro reduced the complex space frame analysis
time for dynamic loading, which translated into overall operational cost reductions. STAAD.Pro’s built-in design standards also helped the
team ensure a safe and sustainable design.
