KEPCO E&C’s Model Review Item Management System minimizes design errors and prevents inadequate construction by tracking design
review results registered in the system and managing the clash items detected by Bentley Navigator and Bentley Interference Manager.
Engineers also use tools developed for extracting graphic images with engineering data, generating item identifications, and registering
them to the system.
The efficiency of design review has been significantly improved by extracting and automatically storing clash detection results along with
graphic images. Model reviewers check item identifications from the system, determine responsible departments, and notify relevant
engineers of the item identifications. The engineers then review the 3D model for each item, revise the design based on the resolutions, and
manage the revised 3D model.
Within a few years, Bühler Group plans to have a worldwide engineering network that will provide all employees with not only the
necessary tools, but also the knowledge and power to use one standard, shared source of data. Bühler Group stakeholders involved in this
CHF 7 million enterprise-wide project include colleagues in Brazil, China, India, South Africa, Switzerland, and the United States.
The first challenge was compiling and clarifying the many different requirements of the Bühler Group product spectrum, not to mention
a wide range of engineering division needs. The solution was to have one team responsible for not only customizing the software –
Project Wise, AutoPLANT, Bentley OpenPlant, and ProSteel – but also installing, training, and motivating the disparate Buehler Group
colleagues around the world.
