Vauxhall is a two-level London Underground station situated directly below the Vauxhall Cross transport interchange in the United Kingdom.
The goal of this phase of the GBP 36 million project was to reconfigure the ticket hall, widen the gate line, and construct a lift/stair shaft to
connect to the platforms. The station remained operational and the construction posed no inconvenience or safety hazards to passengers.
Bechtel deployed a coordinated BIM environment for the project, which provided insight into existing conditions and mapped a path forward
for project execution. AECOsim Building Designer was used to create the existing and new models, and Project Wise was used to coordinate
the information from all of the agencies involved in the engineering and design of the new station. Sites leveraged handheld computer devices
to collate data from the field.

Vauxhall Underground Station: Congestion Relief and Step-free Access Project FINALIST
MMC Oil & Gas Engineering was established in 1984 as a design engineering consultant to the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
The company’s competitive advantage lies in its specialized technical, system, and management expertise. The goal of this MYR 1 million
project was to develop and implement an electronic project management system to manage and report on project documentation for
engineering services provided by the firm.
The most significant time-saving activity of this system – which was based primarily on eB Information Manager and Bentley Navigator –
was the reduction in review cycle times and the ability to retrieve documents promptly via search. Since automating its work processes,
MMC Oil & Gas Engineering has reduced hard-copy distribution by 75 percent and reduced review cycle time by 20 percent.
