TyumenNIIgiprogas LLC developed a 3D information model of a gas processing plant being built by the manufacturing enterprise Achimgaz
in Tyumen, Russia. The goal was to ensure the model was operable during facility construction and throughout installation of operations.
While the model was being developed, a unified design environment for project participants provided access to information on equipment,
products, and materials as well as organized interactions between design departments.
Design participants used Bentley PlantSpace, MicroStation, and Navigator Mobile, which helped to reduce project delivery time. The time
frame for design work when collaborating on a single coordinate system was cut by about 20 percent, compared to the time spent on
developing similar projects for gas processing plants.
TomskNIPIneft JSC undertook the complex construction of first-tier facilities on the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye Field in Krasnoyarsk Krai,
Russia. The oil field is being developed by Rosneft, the leader of Russia’s petroleum industry and the world’s largest publicly traded
petroleum company. This project will connect the field to the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline to facilitate oil exports by Rosneft.
Bentley software was used at the design stage, which minimized inaccuracies at the construction stage. Modeling the pipelines enabled
the project team to perform stress analyses, correctly design pipe elements, and limit stress loads on structural units. Collaboration among
team members made it possible to detect and correct incompatibilities and avoid errors during construction. The team also used geospatial
data for accurate communications about designed infrastructure.
