ISGEC Heavy Engineering designed and supplied a bagasse and gas-fired, pinhole grate boiler with 200-ton-per-hour steaming capacity for a
40-megawatt power plant that is being installed at Ingenio Panuco’s facility in Mexico. More than 100,000 elements had to be modeled, and
early detection of clashes with mechanical components ensured that the supplied items were assembled on site with no issues.
ISGEC Heavy Engineering achieved cost-saving efficiencies in all aspects of design, engineering, fabrication, and construction supported
by ProSteel and STAAD.Pro. ProSteel enabled extensive information integration among mechanical, piping, and structural engineering, and
reduced the number of revisions due to early detection and resolution of clashes and interferences. The project’s emission control system
was modeled using ProSteel.
The scope of ENERGOPROJEK T-KATOWICE’s USD 74 million project for JSW KOKS encompassed the design of new buildings, pipelines,
and pipe racks for the reconstruction of the 71-megawatt power unit at the Przyjazn Coke Plant in Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland. The duration
of the project was 36 months. The project started with civil permit design and continued through basic and detail designs.
Since various contractors and multiple design environments were involved, ENERGOPROJEK T-KATOWICE used i-model technology for data
coordination and combining design data from Bentley PlantSpace, PDMS, Tekla Structures, and Bocad 3D into 3D intelligent information
models that were shared among participants. Using Bentley Navigator, the team simulated the assembly of equipment to detect and resolve
clashes with structures, equipment, and piping.
