CB&I is building two twin AP1000 nuclear power plant units
at the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant near Waynesboro,
Georgia, and the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station near
Jenkinsville, South Carolina. Using i-models for the USD 18
billion projects allows participants to access complex 3D
information on a daily basis. Westinghouse’s WEMMEX
application generates the Smart Plant Review data required
for the more than 8,000 i-models.
Approximately 15,000 files are collected and processed daily
from the WEMMEX repository, and 1,000 are processed
separately via Intergraph PDS. More than 100 batch process
routines collect the native DGN/DRV files for preprocessing.
Over 8,000 i-models are created daily, from which 64 i-model
packages are created based on construction area and
engineering discipline. Packages are disseminated for use in
planning work activities, which saves time in the early stages
of the AP1000 construction projects.
