Daniel cuoco is editor-in-chief of Structural Engineer magazine, a Zweig White monthly publication. He recently retired as president
and ceo of Thornton Tomasetti, a 600-person international engineering and design firm, and currently serves as a consultant to the
firm. cuoco has extensive experience in both the design of major projects as well as the investigation of structural failures. He has
bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from city college of new York and new York University, respectively, and a mBA
from Adelphi University.
edwin ecob is a senior principal consultant with 30 years of experience in the IT, manufacturing, civil engineering, and utility industries.
Since joining cambashi in 1998, he has focused on the use of enterprise and technical applications in the manufacturing and production
industries, and has managed and delivered a series of training programs for vendors of IT solutions. prior to joining cambashi, ecob was
head of a pan-european sales and marketing program for Unisys, with a focus on solutions for the telecom and utility industries. His
early career was spent working for leading international civil engineering contractors on transportation projects in South America and
Southeast Asia. He holds an honors degree in mathematics from the University of nottingham.

Kathleen maher is vice president at Jon peddie research (Jpr), a technically oriented marketing, research, and management consulting firm.
She is the author of several well-received reports covering cAD, digital content creation, and digital video. She is the editor-in-chief of Jpr’s
bi-weekly industry report, Tech Watch. In addition, maher heads the website devoted to graphics technologies: GraphicSpeak ( gfxspeak.com).
She is also a contributing editor at Computer Graphics World. Throughout her career as a writer and analyst, maher has been fascinated by
the areas where creativity, design, and imagination come together in the real word.
paul makovsky is the editorial director of the award-winning publication Metropolis Magazine. Formerly he was managing editor of 2wice
magazine and a Smithsonian Fellow at the cooper-Hewitt national Design museum. He holds a master’s degree in the History of Art from the
University of Toronto, and recently curated the Knoll Textiles: 1945-2010 exhibition and catalogue (Yale University press).
ARC Advisory Group
russ novak serves as the Director of consulting for the Arc team covering engineering and design, project and portfolio management, and
asset lifecycle management. Before joining Arc Advisory Group in 1999 he served as president and managing director of a privately owned
consulting firm serving the process, energy, and utility industries. prior positions included general manager for an integrated energy firm,
where he directed epc strategies and activities including project development and turnkey execution. A chemical engineering graduate of
purdue University, novak also had operations management responsibility serving as a division and refinery manager.

Antony oliver has edited New Civil Engineer, one of the best read weekly magazines in construction, for 11 years. A chartered member of
the Institution of civil engineers, he spent six years working as a civil engineer with owen Williams and Balfour Beatty before crossing
over to journalism. He has since covered some of the most interesting stories in construction. oliver is dedicated to ensuring the magazine
reflects and leads the whole industry and is passionate about ensuring the next generation views the profession as a sound career option.
He was named Business magazine editor of the Year 2008 by the periodical publishers Association and was shortlisted for the British
Society of magazine editors Awards in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
