INNOVATION IN BuILDINg
dillard’s store planning Application
Little Rock, Arkansas, united States
Headquartered in little rock, Ark., Dillard’s department stores developed
the Store planning Interior Design Application to streamline the store design
process. The task-based tools enable store planners to place department-specific fixtures throughout the approximately 300 stores. Dillard’s created the
custom application using Bentley Architecture and project Wise.
Bentley Architecture provides the framework for the customized workflow and
project Wise captures and manages all drawings as the design information
is created. Store planners access the required fixture components from cell
catalogs and use specialized tools to parametrically place fixtures in the store
models. The application automates the generation of interior elevations and
placement of the elevations on construction documents.
Durabrik Bouwbedrijven NV
As a building company that constructs 250 houses each year, Durabrik
needed a fast and accurate way to develop sales dossiers for potential
customers. A dossier consists of a set of drawings, visualizations, and
detailed pricing. Durabrik migrated to Bentley Architecture to take advantage
of building information modeling tools that optimize the company’s work
method and workspace.
Durabrik starts from sketches or 2D drawings and then creates a 3D model
that is used for presentation, drawing generation, and price calculation. Total
production time has been reduced by features such as pre-defined sections,
detailed datasets, parts linked to components, materials quantification, and
calculation program customization. completing a dossier now takes just four to
six hours, and the 3D pDFs provide a photorealistic image for customers.
