citipower and powercor Australia are electricity distributors serving
melbourne, central Victoria, and western Victoria. When their existing drawing
management systems (DmSs) became outmoded, the companies replaced them
with project Wise. The conversion involved training more than 600 personnel,
migrating more than 450,000 drawings, generating pDFs from all drawings, and
integrating project Wise with the existing GIS.
project Wise was customized to accommodate citipower/powercor workflows.
File migration was simple, and the DmS-GIS integration enabled users to easily
retrieve plans and, under fault conditions, quickly get customers back online.
The project Wise implementation saved about $75,000 per year in maintenance
and subscription costs.

to improving the energy efficiency of district heating systems. Gradually
increasing feedline temperature made it possible to store energy in the heat
network and increase power production during combined operation.
The plant’s heat demand from cogeneration and district boiler stations required
optimized resource planning so the project team analyzed how to increase
cogeneration by substituting the source energy for peak load production
without jeopardizing the reliability of the supply. The solution was to optimize
the load based on transient thermal analysis performed with Bentley sisH YD.
District heating network modeling shifted cogeneration energy production to
peak consumption times.
