Byggnadstekniska Byrån i Stockholm AB
Byggnadstekniska Bryan was commissioned to design a $30 million residential
and commercial building in the new Hjorthagen development located in
Stockholm, Sweden. The eight-story building accommodated 129 apartments
and included a landscaped courtyard and underground parking garage. The
ground-floor commercial area had a different plan design.
The building was constructed of prefabricated concrete with supporting
steel beams and a timber structure on the top floor to reduce weight. Three-dimensional modeling helped Byggnadstekniska Bryan to detect and resolve
potential structural challenges and to develop the complicated stairwell design.
Using microStation, Structural modeler, and proSteel reduced the overall

chuchawal royal Haskoning designed the structural roof system for an
electrolux project in rayong, Thailand. The design solution combined a built-up
steel section and a hot-roll section, with each roof frame spanning almost 40
meters. This was an economical design because the portion of the roof at mid
span had less bending force. As a result, there was more lead time to produce
the hot-roll section.
STAAD.pro, S TAAD.foundation, and rAm connection helped chuchawal
royal Haskoning complete the project on time. Using the software enabled
quick analysis and conformance with universal building codes and provided
powerful tools for design of the structural roof system. The project cost was
approximately 600 million Thai baht.
