IgI runway 10/28 rehabilitation

located 10 miles from new Delhi city center, Indira Gandhi International Airport
is expanding from a current capacity of 25 million passengers per annum
(mppA) to an ultimate capacity of 100 mppA. Under a concession agreement,
Delhi International Airport is developing the expansion projects including
rehabilitation of runway 10/28. Halcrow consulting India performed detailed
engineering design of the $26 million rehabilitation works.
A crucial part of an operational airfield, the 4-kilometer runway connected with
15 taxiways. Vertical geometric design and pavement rehabilitation for the
runway and taxiways were designed using mXroAD. Because runway 10/28
had to be closed during construction, scheduling was critical. mXroAD helped
Halcrow achieve the delivery time line despite multiple profile design changes.

chennai outer ring road
Development of the $174 million outer ring road in the chennai metropolitan
area’s Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur districts will relieve congestion and
disperse urban growth by providing orbital links to major radial roads. The
29.65-kilometer project includes a six-lane divided carriageway separated by a
public transportation corridor and commercial development right-of-way, which
made this the first project of its kind for l&T – ramboll consulting engineers.
The greenfield project presented unique challenges related to restricted
right-of-way and site distances. mXroAD helped the engineers to optimize
time, resources, and production management on the complex project. Using
the parallel alignment method and other options enabled the team to manage
deliverables and work ahead of plan. Standardized file annotation for horizontal
and vertical alignment presentation reduced drafting time by 15 to 20 percent.
