Based in Slovakia, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic transmissions, axial
piston pumps, and motors invested $9.4 million to install new technologies
and equipment in an existing production building. iQservices was retained to
develop a layout for the new production facilities that optimized materials flow
while complying with international regulations. The project team developed
several variations of the layout using microStation.
The final layout mapped materials flow through the facility. Another team
working in parallel optimized the arrangement of machines using a digitization
of the facilities. laser scan point cloud data was transferred to microStation
using pointools. A 3D model was constructed indicating all known constraints.
The reference grid and target reference points achieved accuracy within 1
centimeter, which resulted in a zero defect project with no interferences.

Terang Sirasun Batur Field, Indonesia
Kavin engineering and Services was retained to perform detailed engineering of
the complete topside facility for a floating production unit to be stationed at the
Terang Sirasun Batur Field in offshore Indonesia. The topside facility contains
eight process modules requiring process, piping, mechanical, structural,
electrical, and instrumentation. collaboration among multiple disciplines was
the key challenge on this $350 million project, along with conforming to client
requirements and international standards.
Kavin took advantage of the data-centric approach inherent in Autopl An T,
proSteel, STAAD.pro, and Bentley navigator. piping, isometrics, and general
arrangement drawings were done using AutopIpe, and structural modeling
and 2D drawings for pipe supports, handrails, ladders, and grating were
performed using proSteel. raceways and instruments were modeled with
Autopl An T raceways.
