In Warsaw, poland, uncontrolled development had created many impassable
barriers for pedestrians. So in this project, the design team created a structure
that can be both a city landmark and a public attraction. Shaped like a triangle
and touching ground on six points, this architectural solution can serve as a
connector corridor or a public event space. The modular design can be executed
at any scale.
ewa Szylberg & Semir poturak designers developed a geometric master model
using Generativecomponents. The model is based on a triangular shape with
three anchor points. The surface automatically adjusts with any distribution of
given points in the 3D coordinate system. The master model enabled the team
to specify the structure’s geometry and appearance for any size application.
IDom is one of the leading companies in the Spanish market for professional
services in engineering, architecture, and consulting. To obtain the most
sustainable building design, IDom researched how to reduce heating,
ventilation, and air conditioning energy consumption by optimizing building
geometry and apertures. The goal was to keep temperatures at 20 degrees
celsius using the least amount of energy.

evolutionary strategy to design optimized Architecture
Barcelona, Spain
IDom used a new technique based on parametric modeling in
Generativecomponents to explore various solutions to this multiobjective
challenge. The parametric model was optimized using a micro-genetic algorithm
embedded in Generativecomponents. energyplus energy simulation software
was used to evaluate the results of multiple iterations, and the optimal solution
reduced HVAc energy consumption by 17 percent.
