INNOVATION IN wATER AND wASTEwATER TREATmENT PLANTS
Pw T wasser und Abwassertechnik gmbh
Fgd wastewater treatment plant
maasvlakte, Netherlands
mpp3 is a 1,070-megawatt ultra-modern coal-fired power station under
construction in the maasvlakte industrial area near rotterdam, netherlands.
p W T Water and Wastewater Technology was retained to design, build, and
commission the $5.6 million flue gas washing water treatment plant to process the
highly contaminated wastewater resulting from wet desulphurization. The project
involved the design of buildings, process facilities, HVAc, and electrical raceways.
Using microStation to conceptualize the plant in 3D helped the client’s
engineers and operators envision the size, configuration, and accessibility
of proposed facilities and treatment equipment. The 3D models were easily
exchangeable among all parties and helped identify and eliminate conflicts
between disciplines. project Wise allowed team members in Germany and
netherlands to collaborate.
Rosenergoatom
Installation of chemical water purifier
Novovoronezh, Russia
Installation of an $800,000 chemical water purifier at the novovoronezh
nuclear power plant in central russia will provide desalinated water for
initial filling of the primary and secondary cooling circuits, and recharge of the
secondary cooling circuit; as well as provide partially desalinated water to the
cooling system. The water purifier will produce 90 cubic meters per hour of
partially desalinated water, and 165 cubic meters per hour of desalinated water.
rosenergoatom used microStation, plantSpace piping, plantSpace equipment,
and plantSpace p&ID to design the installation, which includes units for
mechanical treatment of source water, ion-exchange treatment of source
water, and neutralization of wastewater. Automated plant management and
monitoring and control systems were also provided. The software saved time
and reduced mistakes, for a total cost savings of 20 percent.
