Mokha Financial & Industrial Consultants was given three months to complete
working drawings for a 40-megawatt backup power plant under design-build-transfer contract at the Multimodel International Cargo Hub and Airport
at Nagpur, India. The firm implemented building information modeling to
coordinate design among stakeholders scattered throughout India.
Bentley Architecture enabled the firm to generate accurate estimates in the
early stages. Working with consultants that were using 2D platforms, Mokha
linked all drawings to the 3D model and distributed 3D PDFs for communications
and clash detection. When the preliminary generation capacity of 28
megawatts was nearly doubled, changes to the design and drawings were
made with minimal man-hours.

PATCO Escalator Replacements
Camden County, New Jersey, United States
The Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO) Speedline runs between
Philadelphia, Pa., and Camden County, N.J., transporting 33,000 people daily.
This project involved the replacement of aged escalators at three of the two-level stations. The four existing escalators were more than 30 years old and
operated on a 24/7 basis. The capital cost of the project was $7 million.
High-definition, 3D laser surveying was deployed by Nave Newell to reduce
labor costs and improve the level of detail for the project. MicroStation and
Bentley Cloud Worx generated accurate 3D spatial models, 2D existing features,
and topographic plans of the current, as-built conditions. The information was
used to design new, custom-fitted escalators and ancillary equipment.
