Miami, Florida, United States
The Florida Department of Transportation in partnership with the Miami-Dade
Expressway Authority is reconstructing the S.R. 826 (Palmetto Expressway) and
S.R. 836 (Dolphin Expressway) interchange to improve mobility in the region.
The $558 million design-build-finance project is the largest in the state of Florida
receiving funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Finley Engineering Group has expanded the size of its professional staff by 20
percent to work on this infrastructure project. Using Bentley Rebar, RM Bridge,
and MicroStation eliminates manual calculations and associated errors. Data is
entered once, accuracy is improved, and analyses are consistent throughout the
design, engineering, and construction process.
El Dorado Bypass
El Dorado, Arkansas, United States
The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department awarded Garver
a $24.3 million project to reconstruct segments of highways in El Dorado, Ark.
Garver provided roadway and bridge design, traffic analysis, and right-of-way
plans. Updating the highways to current design standards will lead to increased
safety and improved driving conditions.
There were four bridge structures on the project. Garver employed MicroStation
and InRoads to create templates and model elevation transitions, GEOPAK to
create a few reverse curves, and CulvertMaster to efficiently and easily design
culverts. Garver met the aggressive schedule and helped improve the quality of
mobility in the surrounding areas.
