Pan American Energy is the second largest oil and gas producer in Argentina.
This $25 million project standardized and modularized the design and
engineering of oil batteries at Cerro Dragon Oil Reservoir in southern Argentina.
The modular design provided Pan American Energy with the necessary flexibility
to cover a wide range of operations, which is indispensable to the dynamic
exploitation of its oil field.
AutoPLANT and ProSteel provided the strategic set of tools supporting a
multidisciplinary team of in-house and contractor professionals. Five batteries
were built and installed between 2006 and 2009, and engineering time was
reduced by 80 percent ( 7,000 hours), equivalent to 3 percent of the budget
($250,000) for each battery. Construction time was reduced 30 percent, and a
smaller field staff reduced injuries by 30 percent.

Khatib Office Complex
The $3 million Khatib Office Complex in Amman, Jordan, is a multiuse building
with nine stories above ground and a parking garage below ground. The
9,250-square-meter space accommodates commercial use on lower levels
and offices on upper levels. The building has glass-and-metal clad facades
with precast panels, reinforced concrete basement floor, and upper floors of
composite structural steel and deck.
Lateral systems use central core-braced frames supplemented with stair
shear walls. The low floor-to-floor height of 3.3 meters complies with local
regulations. RAM Structural System was used for the first time, saving at least
50 percent of the hours under normal conditions. Revisions were easy and quick
for different layouts, loads, and lateral conditions.
