INNOVATION IN OIL AND GAS
The primary goal of the project was to design a modern plant in Krakow, Poland,
for deacidification and ammonia desorption from process water. Kokoprojekt
saved significant time by implementing 3D modeling. The relatively small size of
data files and drawings provided the capability to efficiently analyze the model
and avoid possible clashes, improving the quality of work and reducing the cost
Enabled by AutoPLAN T, AutoPIPE, ProSteel, and Project Wise, the firm avoided
costly mistakes, better synchronized the multistage project preparation
process, and gained a higher overall quality at a lower cost. The total project
was completed in four months, as compared to the typical time frame for this
kind of project of about 12 months.

Hydrotreating Process Unit
The Mangalore, India, Hydrotreating Process Unit produces low-sulfur, low-
nitrogen hydrotreated heavy coker gas oil for processing in the downstream
petrochemical fluid catalytic cracking unit. After being awarded the conceptual
design contract for this project, Larsen & Toubro had a limited time period to
release the preliminary material take-offs.
The firm deployed Plant Wise for 3D modeling and optimized the equipment
layout by trying various equipment locations in line with project specifications
and time constraints. The software increased project team productivity and
reduced expenditures on a per-person basis.
