Petronas carigali awarded a joint-venture EPic contract to MMHE/technip to
develop the Block 1 oil field, which includes an MCR-A platform at the center
of the oil field. The team chose Arup to design the steel gravity base structure.
The main challenges were the foundation, seismic conditions, construction,
and transportation. Bentley Structural 3D modeling proved invaluable in
identifying and rectifying any possible construction restraints early in the project.
Understanding the sea-bed conditions required extensive underwater site
surveys by performing additional bore hole drilling around the platform
perimeter. Arup examined seismic conditions by estimating the seismic
activity range in the area through seismic activity records. Construction
restraints required modular construction of the platform to transport it from
Malaysia to the site.

The Plant for Hydrogen Sulfide and Ammonia Absorption from Coke-Oven Gas – Ammonia Process in the Coke Plant “Przyjazn”

this project is a part of large coking plant being constructed in Poland. the
goal is to build a modern facility for cost-effective, ecological, and waste-free utilization of ammonia and hydrogen cyanide through their catalytic
degradation to nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen. Although Koksoprojekt
handled the design process, PROZACH’s task was to design the plant in terms
of equipment, piping systems, and supporting steel structures for ammonia
catalytic degradation and the Clauss-method sulfur production.
The extremely complicated, multidiscipline project required excellent
knowledge of industry-specific, highly innovative technology tools that could
synchronize across several design areas. PROZACH engineers deployed
Bentley’s AutoPLAN T 2D to 3D design tools that enabled the team to trace the
contents of the P&ID diagrams while building the 3D model.
