Asse viario Marche – umbria and Quadrilatero di Penetrazione interna (Sublots 1. 2 and 2. 1)
Marche and Umbria, Italy
this project, whose goal is to improve the road system in the central italian
regions of Marche and Umbria, is strategic to the modernization and
development of Italy. One of the largest challenges was the landscape, which
features various rises, generally steep, cut by narrow valleys with prominent
sides. In addition, the project site included environmentally protected and
historically and culturally significant areas.
Bentley MXROAD enabled quick assessments of various project options to find
the best geometrical and functional configurations. The work was completely
studied in 3D and the software allowed the project team to quickly analyze
the geometrical features of the layout in order to compare them with the
requirements of the Italian road regulations and a 3D analysis of the visualization.

Aircleaning Noise Barrier
Designers at the tauw group were tasked with creating nontraditional
noise barriers in the Netherlands that also offered ecological benefits. Their
goal was to create dual-purpose barriers that stop the noise coming from
nearby traffic and clean the polluted air originating from that same traffic.

design options and clever building solutions that provided not only a good
return on their investment in the technology, but also empowered them to
think innovatively. Although the project is ongoing, the firm expects the result
to be a model for future environmentally friendly screens.
