Maryland State Highway Administration
Maryland truckers Map
Baltimore, Maryland, United States
the goal of this Maryland State Highway Administration project was to create
the new Maryland Truckers Map, which would provide updated highway routing
information so truckers could more efficiently access the Port of Baltimore.
Maryland’s state roadways on the new map have been color coded for
specifically approved truck routing compatibility based on the most recent
safety information available at the time of publication by the Maryland
State Highway Administration’s Motor Carrier Division. The Motor Carrier
Division partnered with the Highway Mapping Team to finalize the map using
MicroStation and Bentley CADscript.

MD 45 (York Road) Widening and Streetscape
Lutherville, Maryland, United States
the Maryland Department of transportation’s State Highway Administration
is adding a fifth lane to provide a center turn lane along a one-mile section
of York Road in the community of Lutherville, Md., which will increase safety
and reduce congestion, thereby conserving fuel and reducing emissions. The
challenges were to develop a context-sensitive design that minimized these
impacts while improving traffic safety and operations.
Bentley products facilitated an efficient visualization production process.
In the photo simulations, MicroStation was used to line up the camera and
render the proposed digital terrain models that were designed using InRoads.
By using this integrated approach, the time needed to create a particular
simulation was typically less than one day.
