The Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project is 164
kilometers long and is a leading motivator for socioeconomic
growth of the Karnataka State as well as India. The entire
project is a new alignment passing through virgin land to
create one of the longest new roads to be constructed in
India. The project involves the land acquisition of 20,193
acres of private and government land.
The effective planning and creation of a land database using
Bentley software facilitated faster decisions and reduced the
time required for land notifications from 18 months to six months.
MicroStation and MicroStation GeoGraphics identified the
dry land, prepared the exact land records, and digitized and
2007–2008 Maryland Official Highway Map maryland state highway
The Maryland State highway Administration (ShA) is
required to keep records of the progress and status of work
on all Maryland state and county roads, including biannual
publication of the Maryland Official highway Map. The
2007–2008 Maryland Official highway Map Project began
in August 2006 at a cost of $370,000. One million copies
of the map will be distributed to the motoring public for free.
ShA used MicroStation to create a collaborative working
environment and a fully coordinated and integrated design
workflow among ShA engineers and other design disciplines.
The map is designed using MicroStation and Digital InterPlot,
and is then post-processed in Bentley CADscript. Since 1985,
ShA has saved over 1 million man-hours, which translates
into a savings of over $23 million for the state of Maryland.
