Digital Map Counter city of mississauga
The Digital Map Counter project provides residents, busi-
nesses, and visitors of Mississauga, Canada, with a robust,
multi-functional, interactive mapping tool that gives them fast
access to up-to-date, accurate, and integrated hard copy
geospatial data. The tool reduces the time required to produce
custom maps from a few days to as little as a few minutes for
most requests. At the same time, it frees up technical staff to
focus on other business needs by enabling customer-service
assistants to search, display, and print street maps, property
maps, topographical maps, and aerial imagery based
on direct interaction with the requesting client.
Implemented using MicroStation GeoGraphics and
MicroStation VBA, the Digital Map Counter includes a
user-friendly interface, a map-based menu system, feature
grouping for ease of selection, fast map production,
seamless mapping through a street-map overview,
and support for DWG and DGN output formats.
Interactive Publishing with Bentley and Google Maps crotec Bv
One of the services offered by CROtec is hosting urban
planning data for Web-based review and comment by
citizens of the Netherlands. The goal of this project was to
improve the process using Google Maps™. Users have found
the Google Maps interface to be very user-friendly, and
CROtec has added interactive options.
When users redline and add comments on the site, e-mail is
forwarded to the CROtec project manager, who can view
the comments in combination with the corresponding redline.
The project manager can update the data and reply to the
user, who can review the changes along with the original
remarks. In this hybrid environment, CROtec hosts data on
the Google Maps platform, based on Bentley Geo Web
Publisher, which saves hours in updating the site, using
WebMapService and Bentley Geo Web Solutions.
