Tullamarine Calder Interchange Alliance Project parsons Brinckerhoff australia p/L
This major upgrade of a freeway junction is a critical link
in Melbourne’s arterial road network, carrying more than
170,000 vehicles each day. It was particularly challenging
because it is one of the busiest interchanges in Australia. It
was also the first time in Melbourne’s history that a government
body had entered into an alliance for a civil project in which
the owner, designer, and constructor were bound by a
single agreement.
The timeline was fast-tracked as construction commenced
prior to the completion of design. This made it even more
important to ensure that the correct drawings were at the
fingertips of those who needed them. Using MicroStation,
Project Wise, and InRoads, Parsons Brinkerhoff implemented a
managed environment that provided a standardized workflow
for all the various disciplines that worked on the project.
F.E. Weymouth Oxidation Retrofit Program — 36” Washwater Return Pumpback Line richard Brady & associates
Southern California is upgrading and retrofitting its water
treatment plants to meet government regulations, which
state that water utilities must comply with mandated levels
of disinfectants/disinfection by-products. Richard Brady &
Associates was responsible for performing this $5.4 million
component of the project.
Project Wise helped the project teams coordinate conflicts
with other disciplines and provided instantaneous real-time
views of the portions of the overall project as it developed.
In addition, it enabled multiple consultants to be located in
different geographical areas but still access current files,
allowing the firm to accomplish more work in less time. Also,
the design team used MicroStation and InRoads to properly
and accurately lay out the horizontal and vertical alignment
with minimal effort.
