NEIDRI Applying Managed Environment china Water northeastern investigation, design and research co. Ltd
China Water Northeastern Investigation, Design and Research
Co. Ltd (NEIDRI), a Class A multispecialized institute under
the direction of the Chinese Ministry of Water Resources and
Electric Power, was founded in 1953 and now has 1,688
employees. NEIDRI needed a system to manage its large
quantity of data stored as electronic files, which represent
the institute’s most critical property.
Through the implementation of Project Wise, NEIDRI has
established a managed environment that allows group
leaders and project managers to accurately and efficiently
track the progress of projects, enables designers to search,
find, and share project data easily and safely, provides
remote access for the project team, and is customizable.
It is even using this collaboration system to help manage
its auditing process.
Project Wise — Enterprise Wide
michael Baker Jr., inc
With more than 5,000 employees in over 40 offices around
the world, the firm’s challenge was to find a way to staff
complex projects cost-effectively. In the past, offices would
either hire local talent or relocate existing resources to the
project site.
Baker has invested in Project Wise as part of a CAD management strategic plan. The system consists of file distribution
(caching) servers that distribute production data in the most
efficient way. This allows production teams to remain located
at their home offices, which provides considerable savings
compared to relocation expenses. It is a vital contribution to
resource management for the most complex projects.
