WestLink M7 Leighton
Westlink M7 is a 40-kilometer toll road in Sydney, Australia,
that links three major motorways: M5 at Prestons, M4 at
Eastern Creek, and M2 at Baulkham hills. Westlink M7 is
a fully electronic toll road with no cash booths, so there is
no stopping or slowing down to pay tolls. The two major
interchanges with M4 and M5 have provided the biggest
challenges to the design and construction team, because it
involved the construction of more than 20 separate ramps
Harlingen Downtown Drainage maverick engineering, inc
at up to five different levels over some of the busiest sections
of motorway in Australia.
Adopting a standardized and automated design approach
across all design teams using Bentley MX solutions has ensured
efficient development of model data and presentation of
drawings. Streamlining of the design workflow allowed the
complex interchanges to be designed efficiently, on time,
and on budget.
The $2.5 million downtown drainage project is located in
the downtown area of harlingen, Texas. The purpose of this
project was to redirect storm drainage to the outfall east of
Business 77 to prevent flooding south of the downtown area.
The major challenges of this project included working around
existing utilities and having enough ground cover for the boxes
while keeping the slope required for drainage.
Bentley’s StormCAD software made it easy to make changes
and determine if different designs would get the results required.
The reports created by StormCAD, along with the profiles,
helped Maverick Engineering see where it needed to make
changes and/or had a problem (for example, ground cover,
inverted or no slope, or flooding). StormCAD also integrated
with AutoCAD easily so that the firm could use street details
that had been drawn in AutoCAD.
