SCDOT Outdoor Advertising Permitting System south carolina dot
The Bentley Outdoor Advertising Permitting System created
for the South Carolina Department of Transportation can
create applications for billboards and track the workflow
of the approval process from initial request of a billboard
permit to final approval. It also serves as an inventory
system of currently active billboards, enabling users to
produce billing invoices for the yearly renewal of all active
billboards, store images of the billboards, and, through a
mapping interface, locate billboards.
TCK Forced Balanced Project cK Karayollari genel mudurlugu
Recent enhancements include a Web interface for sign
owners that allows them to track the status of their applications and can also pay application and permit fees
online using credit cards. In addition, permits can now
be bulk transferred from one sign owner to another. The
project itself included the implementation of the system,
data conversion, and end-user training.
TCK Karayollari’s organization in Turkey consists of 17 districts
and around 20,000 employees. The project encompassed a
highway project that began at the survey stage and proceeded
through usage of intelligent features at both profile, cross
sections, and design phases. All haul payments were automatically calculated so engineers could design alternate routes
and reduce or optimize construction costs. Project cost was
$700,000 and construction cost was $7 million.
The Bentley software used, which included MicroStation, InRoads,
and MicroStation GeoGraphics, facilitated the sharing of
design data and 3D capabilities enabled interchange designs
to be easily visualized. The budget of the construction project
is very limited so cost balancing analysis to fit the optimum
design standards is the top critical issue in the project.
