The Esplanade in Dubai will be a five-star hotel and wellness
spa accompanied by office towers, apartments, townhomes,
and exclusive retail shopping. The geometry for all buildings
is quite complex and a client requirement included Spanish
Mediterranean-styled details that changed often throughout
the design phases.
General Purpose Warehouse us army corps of engineers, Louisville, Ky
The use of 3D cells that could be easily replaced across large
areas of the project was the most efficient way for inexperienced staff to keep the design up to date. The staff producing
the documentation was not trained in BIM technology so
keeping the workflow as simple as possible was essential.
Using MicroStation 3D components facilitated sheet compositions that showed every aspect of each unique assembly
area in both 2D and 3D views. This made the design much
easier for the contractor to understand.
This BIM project is for the construction of a general purpose
warehouse located at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. The new
consolidated warehouse facility will replace 14 World War II,
1940s-era wooden temporary warehouse facilities. The
proposed warehouse has a footprint of 80,000 square feet
with a capacity of 1,700,000 cubic feet.
Using Bentley’s BIM solutions enabled the US Army Corps of
Engineers (USACE) to reinvent the design and review process
while empowering a multidiscipline team in a quick-decision
atmosphere. With a data workflow that facilitates creation of
data, the design can be easily reviewed and quality checked.
Working in this team environment and modeling with the
concept of digital construction has prevented countless issues
in the model, drawings, and construction of the project.
