RGP Architects
RGP Architects is a medium-sized architectural firm with
offices in various locations. It had been using MicroStation
for a few years, but had successive CAD managers who
failed to upgrade the company’s software or provide staff
with guidelines on best practices for structuring drawings
and filing for a project.
San Antonio Water System
In 2006, the firm decided it was time to upgrade to
MicroStation V8. Using an Enterprise Training Subscription
to facilitate this transition, RGP Architects employed a variety
of training methods including online help, Bentley discussion
groups, remote training, and instructor-led training to get its
teams up to speed. Blended learning options made training
more readily available for all users in all locations.
The GIS/mapping staff of the San Antonio Water System
(SAWS) is constantly designing, reviewing, and mapping
water utility projects for water, wastewater, and recycled
water projects. SAWS has more than 9,300 linear miles of
water utility pipes in its system and is continuing to expand
its services. SAWS relies on its trained engineers to ensure
that all of its customers receive high-quality water service. It
uses MicroStation products for its specific design needs in
treatment, collection, and distribution of water and sewer plans.
These technicians are more proficient because their skills
are continually enhanced through regular training. By taking
advantage of on-site and distance learning training via the
Enterprise Training Subscription Program, SAWS has already
saved $18,000, and more savings are anticipated as the
OnDemand eLearning program expands.
