hatch Associates operates across five continents in a multitude of languages. Its challenge is twofold: first, to mitigate
skills shortages by introducing 3D modeling concepts and
products to academia and students as the preferred method
of engineering design and delivery, and second, to provide
its engineering resources with the essential design skills to
achieve measurable project success for clients. The firm trains
7,000 professionals annually with the help of an Enterprise
Training Subscription (ETS).
In 2006 hatch employees globally accessed more than 250
Bentley Institute courses, covering a wide range applications.
The firm makes extensive use of OnDemand eLearning to
supplement scheduled classroom learning and assure update
materials are available to all hatch employees. In 2007,
instructor-led distance learning will be employed around
the globe to smaller locations, reducing travel costs.
In 2006, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT)
began a unification project to combine its many workspaces
and Bentley products into a single custom environment that
would benefit both the users and the support staff. The Bentley
Institute provided training documentation to meet the needs
of the department’s CAD users. Using Bentley’s Enterprise
Training Subscription (E TS) program, INDOT kept employees
up to speed with in-house, customized training and Bentley
The ETS saved INDOT thousands of dollars due to the unlimited amount of training it allows. Bentley LEARN allows
new employees to start training immediately without waiting
for a classroom session to be scheduled, while also allowing
district employees throughout the state to attend training
without the time and expenses associated with traveling to
the central office.
