Meeting the needs of its clients often requires Gresham
Smith & Partners (GS&P) personnel from several locations
to work on the same projects. This brought about the need
for a plotting solution that would enable professionals from
all locations to collaborate on a single project, sharing files
and plotting documents as easily as if they were down the
hall from one another.
Project Wise Web-based archival system provided a central
repository to organize and store plot files for easy retrieval
from any GS&P location, allowing users to share files and
collaborate on projects with team members at other locations.
The firm currently has 10 different servers with over 120
archived projects. To help reduce the impact on bandwidth
involved in moving large files across their WAN, GS&P
developed acceleration devices that achieve an 80 percent
compression rate.
CADD Asset Management via Centralized Enterprise License and Training Subscription parsons Brinckerhoff Quade & douglas

The goal of this project was to implement a centralized CADD
asset management program using Bentley’s Enterprise License
Subscription (ELS) and Enterprise Training Subscription (E TS)
as key tools. The program would consist of three major points:
licensing, training, and support.
Parsons Brinckerhoff has more than 70 offices in the United
States that currently use Bentley software under an ELS and
ETS with Bentley. While the ELS would give staff the tools to
complete their projects, the ETS would educate them on how
to use the tools. As a result, support staff could be used to
enhance the productivity of the offices. The ability of the
firm’s staff to use the “right tool at the right time” became
paramount in its successful implementation of the program.
