The firm is using MicroStation and Bentley Architecture because
its federated data model enables project teams to work more
efficiently, and allows them to modularize and reuse building
components. It also makes interoffice collaboration possible.
The ability of MicroStation to handle both 2D and 3D data
and produce high-end renderings eliminates the need to
translate CAD data to and from different formats.
The National Australia Bank building at Melbourne Docklands
represents world’s best practice in the creation of workplace
communities in terms of the workplace and state-of-the-art
sustainable architecture design. Mixed-mode ventilation,
workplace daylighting, low energy consumption, and the
creation of internal landscape environments demonstrate
advances in sustainability.
MicroStation and Bentley Architecture allowed the modular-ization and reuse of building components throughout the
project. The applications also enabled interoffice collaboration
and remote work. The versatility of MicroStation to handle
both 2D and 3D data and the built-in capability to produce
high-end renderings meant that significant amounts of time
were saved by eliminating the need to translate CAD data
to and from different formats.
