Jefferson City Loop ameren
Ameren’s project in Jefferson City, Missouri, included building
a new, 25-mile, 161,000-volt transmission line, upgrading
three substations and constructing a new one, as well as
building a new 345,000-volt transmission line from the new
substation to another substation yet to be built. In choosing
routes for the new lines and acquisition of new rights-of-way
required, the results of extensive public involvement were
considered.

Completion of this project will eliminate transmission facility
overloads in central Missouri and provide enhanced voltage
support throughout the area. Bentley software enabled the
various groups within Ameren to efficiently share information
and collaborate on this $21 million project. As a result, it was
completed on time and within budget.
Eandis is an energy provider in Flanders, Belgium. The
company maintains both an electricity and a gas distribution
network, with 2.4 million connection points in the former
and 1,370,000 in the latter. The company’s in-house map
management system, based on Bentley products, organizes
and serves up more than 250,000 drawings.
The maps are geolocated, so by clicking on a location in the
system’s interface, any of the company’s 1,000 employees
can see all the plans related to that location. All spatial
information about the entire network — including cables,
pipes, transformers, and so on — is stored in Oracle spatial.
Some 90,000 plots are printed per month, and more than
200 field PCs take advantage of the user interface, even
when offline.
