An Integrated Solution for Bentley Water Applications asa Livono
Azienda Servizi Ambientali (ASA) Livono, a utility company,
operates and manages the water, wastewater, and gas
services of Tuscany. Its territory covers 33 municipalities and
three provinces, and it serves the needs of more than 366,000
residents. Each of ASA’s departments used different software
solutions and worked in isolated, environments. This non-integrated workflow produced data duplication and posed
the risk of users accessing outdated information.
The utility is now using a Bentley solution based on
MicroStation, Bentley Geospatial Management, and
Bentley’s haestad Methods applications. By achieving
an integrated workflow, the new solution has reduced the
effort required to keep data up-to-date across departments
and has implemented a unique database that eliminates
data duplication. The solution will run with Bentley’s
WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, and CivilStorm applications.
Maintaining Water Network Fire-Fighting Capacity Brisbane Water
Brisbane Water, which provides water and wastewater
services to the 1 million residents of Brisbane, Australia,
and drinking water to 1 million residents of Southeast
Queensland, had a pressing need to conduct numerous,
frequent, fire-flow modeling simulations. It needed a software
solution that would minimize the time and effort required for
fire-fighting analysis and enable the organization to obtain
Implementation of WaterCAD and WaterGEMS has enabled
fire-fighting analysis to become part of almost all studies,
investigations, and designs carried out by Brisbane Water.
Typical applications include master planning of infrastructure
needs over the long term, pressure and leakage management,
fire-fighting risk assessments and works prioritization, and
operation investigations on the impact on fire-fighting capacity
from proposed rezonings and water main maintenance.
