The MG Valda Victoria office building is located
in the business triangle on the left bank of the
Neris River in Vilnius. Experts from MG Baltic
Group and Constructus worked out the details of
the project. The 16-story, 76-meter-high building
offers total floor space of 6500 square meters.
With Bentley building information modeling solutions, the project team was supported with early
information about missed design solutions and
possible problems. The 3D model was used to
generate quantities for tendering and to compare
the amounts of actual amount of the works.

client was confronted with them. Operative planning and management of the construction process

In this joint research project by Gifu Prefecture
and Waseda University in Japan, 3D CAD was
used to design a building and to study facility
management. The proposed building consists of
four floor structures, each of which moves vertically as needed. Creating such a radical design
required many iterations, which were judged on
the basis of 3D representations. Also, for maintenance and facility management, 3D as-built CAD
models represent the details of each component.
It was very important in this project to confirm the feasibility of using
3D CAD information for facility
management procedures. Therefore, add-in software to utilize 3D
as-built drawing models using 3D
models was developed. The software groups components so as
to use each object at any level of
hierarchical group. ;
When the images of the building were developed,
a 3D model of it was made using Bentley building
information modeling products. The model was
presented using a real-time walk-through virtual
reality system to the persons concerned, who easily pointed out potential problems and issues. This
contributed greatly to developing and evaluating
