MANAGED ENVIRONMENT
ProjectWise
as a Document
Management System
Stockholm Vatten AB
The goal of this project was to create a digital
document management system for projects
and drawings - a digital archive - for faster and
easier access to documents. Bentley’s
Project Wise was chosen for this system in late
2001. The system was implemented in 2004.

create drawings in
PDF format, which is
the format in which
drawing files are
archived.
Local customizations were made, mainly for
managing projects and workflows. A database
consisting of metadata for 70,000 old drawings was imported to the system. In addition,
connections to other project applications,
such as graphical presentations of projects
including time tables, were made. The
menus have been translated into Swedish.
The system has initially been used for managing construction projects and managing a

faster and easier. Other
benefits are faster and
easier access to proj-
ect documents by using attributes
and free text search; more stan-
dardized project environments;
use of document versions and
design history; and better work-
flows. Using the system will save
the company significant time and
money compared with its
former use of the Microsoft
Windows Explorer. ;

Aero Asahi Co. is focused on improving digital mapping technology and continuing to
offer high-quality mapping data quickly and
at a moderate price.
In 2004, MAP2 was used for 608 flight courses of the photography flight plan in the
power-transmission cable project. ;
