GEOSPATIAL MODELING
GIS Construction Case
Jesse Co
particularly easy to re-use, because it accepts
many parameters. This greatly improves
development efficiency.
With ES-Builder, Jesse can design and build
dialogs visually without using Dialog
Resource Language. Each item has the property of position as well as resource, event,
and help settings. Using C language-compati-ble code, Jesse can describe the behavior of
each item in detail, using local variables.
The power of ES-Builder is demonstrated in a
recent project for the water service division
of a local government in the Saitama prefecture. Customized applications are used to
extract information
on the material and
the caliber of water

and create thematic
maps.

RWE Power Aktiengesellschaft
RWE Power AG, is one of the largest European
power producers, draws on a broad range of
fuels, including coal from the company’s own
Hambach and Garzweiler opencast mines.
The SABAS project, begun in July 2002,
allows the company to automate mine surveying, mapping, and modeling of the various
deposits in the mines. It also provides real-time visualization of excavator deployment,
as well as evaluation of the bucket-wheel
excavator position data to assess the stability
of the rim slope.
Radio transmission of GPS data to the mine
office shows at what time the excavator
excavated which areas. Also, unexcavated
wells, piezometers, and other installations
can be entered in the mapping system.
GPS position data is used to locate an excava-
tor on a MicroStation 3D digital terrain model
(DTM), giving the operator information on
the distance to the next slice to be extracted,
the boundary, and working level. In addition,
