To support this highly collaborative design,
construction, and implementation project,
ORNL realized it needed an effective way to
share the more than 200,000 drawings, documents, and other pieces of information
between the six partnering laboratories.
Bentley’s ProjectWise content management
software enabled all of the groups involved in
this very complex technical project to have
instant access to the documents needed for
their individual roles. Hundreds of scientists,
engineers, and construction managers across
the country have been able to store vital
project documents and quickly retrieve the
information they need in a controlled, secure
environment.
The condensing of data from many systems
into one ProjectWise content management
system enabled SNS to save tens of thousands
of dollars yearly in software maintenance
cost and IT support cost. In addition, it benefited from the cost savings of decommissioning obsolete server hardware. ;
