STUDENT COMPETITION: VISION FOR ENGINEERING AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Woodgas Reactor
FH Giessen-Friedberg
My exercise was to sketch
the plant in 3D, and show
some features of today’s
engineering software such
as visualization, animation
(maintenance work on the
reactor shaft), and technical
documentation.
For this, I used MicroStation,
TriForma, and PlantSpace
Design Series to produce
the intelligent 3D model and
then extract or produce various files, such as renderings
of the plant in JPEG format.
Animations are produced
from hundreds of pictures
built from animation scripts
and then transferred into an
AVI video format.
The more interesting files for engineers are
database extractions, lists, or 2D technical
sketches created from the 3D model, which can
also be produced with the programs I used. ;
