Centrifugal Compressor
Driveline
York Process Systems
York Refrigeration - Frick furnished a centrifugal compressor for a propane refrigeration system in a gas processing facility. The
compressor is part of the refrigeration
process on the de-ethanizer system, which
removes heavy hydrocarbons from the raw
gas stream. It does this by lowering the gas
temperature to a point at which the heavier
hydrocarbon components liquefy and fall
out, leaving rich ethane gas in the gas stream.
The rich ethane gas is then sold for possible
use in a feed stock process. The heavy hydrocarbons, such as butane and propane, are sold
as by-products.
drawings and bills of materials (BOMs), thus
assisting in the project fabrication. Piping and
conduit runs were completed more effectively and accurately. Conduit was shown for the
first time providing an accurate BOM instead
of a best-guess practice for the number of fittings used. In addition, the checking of drawings and BOMs
was done quicker
and more efficiently. This entire
package was
reviewed in less
than a day, while
previously it might
have taken a day
and a half. ;
The goal of the project was to start and complete the centrifugal compressor driveline
using Bentley software. The software
improved the accuracy and quality of project

The technologies developed by TatNIPIneft
are applied in the Republic of Tatarstan and
other Russian regions, including Samara,
Saratov, Volgograd, Irkutsk, and Tyumen, the
Republic of Chuvashia, and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, as well in
Middle Eastern countries, Africa, China, and
Vietnam.
The design sector of TatNIPIneft develops
projects covering all types of oil-field construction: collection and transportation of oil;
oil, gas, and water treatment; water supply;
power supply; telemetry; and more.
TatNIPIneft is currently introducing an inte-
grated system of computer-aided design
based on Bentley software products and local
IT infrastructure. The system
will offer a unified approach
to the entire process of engi-
neering information manage-
ment, beginning with research
and an engineering survey
and ending with completion
of a final project. The key fea-
ture of the system is the use of 3D models
and intelligent design containing both graph-
ic and attribute information, as well as auto-
matic design.
TatNIPIneft implemented Bentley’s
Project Wise system to provide a secure, controlled, centralized environment for all engineering data. The system provides automatic
workflow, which helps authorized users follow the event history and easily see the
progress of the project. Although information
is securely stored and managed, construction project information, even in the intermediate stage, can easily be shared by
authorized project participants. ;
