High-Speed Rail Corridor

SUDOP PRAHA designed connections
between four high-speed rail corridors in
Prague. The design was completed using a
unique configuration of MX and InRoads
working in a MicroStation environment. MX
was used in the modeling phase, including
the whole digital terrain model. InRoads
then helped with road design. The remaining design work was done in MicroStation.
Bentley technology allowed SUDOP to save
three months of design work and finish
within a strict six-month schedule. ;
Regional Fast Rail Project
Maunsell Australia Pty Ltd.
The most extensive upgrade of regional
lines in 120 years will enable modern
trains operating at speeds of up to 160
kilometers per hour. Maunsell Australia Pty
Ltd is lead consultant, responsible for
civil, track, and operational design for the
$300 million project. The work was divid-
ed into two projects, one for each of two
separate lines, with preliminary design
and detail design deliverables for each.
Careful attention to data structure and
how the project was split up brought
long-term benefits in managing the overall
project. The design team, using Bentley
MX, was distributed across four company
offices in Australia and New Zealand.
However, the use of Bentley Arenium let
designers spend more time in their home
